Root is an unexpected find in the historic downtown of Newport, RI. It is a small inviting place on Broadway, certified by Rabbi Mandel of the nearby Touro Synagogue. Their entire menu is plant-based with an emphasis on fresh and healthy choices, including a line-up of refreshing juices and smoothies, breakfast and grain bowls, and creative sandwiches.
On our short lunch visit we (me, my husband and my daughter) shared a delicious and colorful Acai Bowl, as well as an Avocado Toast and Strawberry Fields Smoothie. Everything was just the way it should be, and we enjoyed both the food and the chill vibe of the eatery.
